Hi there,
In today’s post I tell you about my aesthetic treatments since I arrived in Porto.
Some time ago I told you how I started taking care of my face when I was in Valencia:
I started having cosmetic procedures in the summer of 2020. That is to say, I started quite old taking into account that there are people who start getting preventive Botox at the age of 16.
At the Ricart Medical Institute in Valencia I had Botox, and some filling with hyaluronic acid in my cheekbones, upper lip and chin. Very little because I did not want to change my face.
Although this place was the best in Valencia, I didn’t like that the doctor was sexist and was always making comments about women. In addition, when I put some hyaluronic acid on my upper lip, he told me that I would be back in no time asking for more fillers because he knew how women are.
The reality is that I never put hyaluronic acid on my lips again.
When I went to see him, I felt like the ugliest person in the world because he would make me a list of what he thought I needed to fill out for the harmony of my face. From that list, I would do a couple of things because if I did everything he wanted me to do, I would have spent 5.000 euros every time I went.
To this day I think that if I had agreed to do everything he proposed, I would have a disfigured face from so many fillings.
When I arrived in Porto, I went to Clínica Luso Espanhola and I liked that the aesthetic doctor was conservative and never proposed fillers. He simply proposed biostimulators and ultrasound.
Since the left side of my face is saggier than the right, I had a cheekbone technique with radiesse, and I didn’t like the way it looked. In fact, I spent months with skull cheekbones.
The ultrasound session with the ultraformer was traumatic and I spent a couple of months with a disfigured face because of how swollen it was.
Due to a problem with the dentist service of that clinic, which I already told you about in other posts, I decided to look for another clinic. Besides, I didn’t like the aesthetic doctor either because he was abrupt and he always told stories to justify that men need to be unfaithful to women.
As I had seen on TikTok that the Fotona laser was a very good anti-aging treatment, I looked for clinics that had that laser. I got the best answer from Best medical Concept, and made an appointment for Botox, and there I would ask about the laser.
Dr. Pedro told me that I could not have that laser because I had melasma and it would worsen the pigmentation of my face. He prescribed a treatment and I was totally forbidden to sunbathe anywhere on my body.
I had long since stopped sunbathing for my skin care, but now it was mandatory.
In addition to the Botox, he suggested a full-face ultrasound session with HIFU and although it was not as horrible as the ultraformer session, it is quite painful.
Then I noticed that my nasolabial fold was getting very pronounced and he put some hyaluronic acid in.
Since I have asymmetry on both sides of my face, the left side is always worse. In the summer of 2024, I told the doctor, and he put some filler in both cheekbones, on the left much more than on the right to try to make them look more symmetrical.
That summer the doctor who had been treating me went to Vila do Conde and another doctor named Diogo was coming to replace him.
As I was happy with Dr. Pedro, I was a little panicked that I would not like the new doctor or that he would not know how to treat the melasma.
So, I contacted him on Instagram, and he said he did have experience and could continue to follow it up.
In October I made an appointment to start doing laser on a very large scar I have and there I would take the opportunity to talk to the new doctor and see what feeling he gave me.
Fortunately, I loved him and grew to like him even more than the one I had before. He is such a sweet person and even realized that Diego has rosacea and dermatitis, something that no doctor had told him so far.
He precribed a couple more creams for the melasma and I asked him about the spots around my mouth and about the bag under my left eye which was still more marked than the right one. In addition, I asked him what I could do to raise my eyebrows more since I noticed that my eyes were a little droopy.
He suggested microneedling around the mouth with depigmenting, placing hyaluronic acid in the dark circles and ultrasound (HIFU) a month after the placement of hyaluronic acid.
In detail I leave you the aesthetic procedures that I do regularly and their prices:
- Botox – 300 euros (2 times a year)
- Melasma treatment – 60 euros per month.
- Hyaluronic acid filler – 350 to 400 euros per area. I do nasolabial fold and cheekbones/dark circles. This can be once or twice a year depending on how my face looks.
- Ultrasound (HIFU) – 600 euros. The doctors have told me that once a year is enough for me, but you can have more sessions depending on how tight you want your face to look.
- Microneedling – 100 to 150 euros per session. Depending on how bad is the pigmentation, you can have a session every 15 days.
