Hi there,
In the last post I told you about the whole trip to get to Playa del Carmen and today I tell you about the hotel where we spent the night in Mexico City.
The first thing is that this hotel has a free shuttle service, and the frequency is every hour.
We landed quite late and had already eaten on the plane, so we went to the hotel straight to sleep.
The area in which it is located is not very beautiful, but it is not bad. In the morning we went out to get money from the ATM and to have breakfast in the area and it did not feel unsafe at all. We went to the airport to buy the cell phone card and we only had to cross a bridge; in 10 minutes walking we were already there. Then we went to the market to buy lunch. So, the area had everything you could need.
Pros
- Free shuttle service to the airport
- WiFi that worked well
- Good desk that can be useful if you need to work.
- Good check out time at 13h. In many hotels it is at 10 or 11AM.
Cons
- The hotel is ugly inside and the elevators are busted
- The room, despite being renovated, is very worn; also, the bathroom was old and did not match the room.
- It has no window, just an opaque glass that doesn’t even let you see out. It made me a little claustrophobic.
- It gave the feeling of not being very clean
- The air conditioner smelled funny
- Expensive for the quality you get: $ 58 a night for both
In short, it seems to me that it is a hotel that is not at all bad to spend one night. In addition, the area is not dangerous, and you can go out quietly to go to the cashier, market, etc. But I found it expensive for the qualities of the place and I didn’t even have breakfast included.
