Excellent experience at the Hotel Paseo Kuka

Hi there,

After telling you about the experience in Holbox, it is also worth giving a post to this hotel that positively surprised us.

I have learned to pay close attention to negative reviews because they are usually the ones that are right. Those of this accommodation were not so worrying and it seemed to have a good value for money.

It cost between 30 and 40 euros per night, which is expensive if we talk about Mexico (where you can get good things for less money), but cheap if we talk about Holbox.

It is a half hour walk from the pier and less than 5 minutes from the beach. I thought the location was good because it wasn’t in all the chaos of the center.

The receptionist explained to us that only the Telcel signal reached the island, and it was bad, so the little Wi-Fi that there was only worked in reception.

The hotel was new and of that type of construction that seems to me very intelligent for hotels and especially for the beach. It was clean, the room had enough lighting, there were ecological amenities (bar soap, liquid soap, and shampoo), the bathroom was spacious and there was a small built-in closet with hangers. The room was not very big, but it was enough.

After dinner the first night in the center we asked the receptionist if he knew of any cheap places to eat. He told us that a family made homemade food and deliver it for 90 pesos. From that day on we sent him a WhatsApp and when we got back from the beach, we already had the food at the hotel.

Breakfast was a continental buffet. For my taste it lacked a bit of protein, but it was great.

The room was cleaned, and amenities replenished daily.

One thing I loved is that you always saw the staff cleaning. With how filthy the island was with mud pools everywhere; it was a great achievement that they could always keep the hotel spotless.

It did not have a pool, which is better for us because it reduces the chances of finding children in the hotel.

The day of the checkout the owner was there, and they all said goodbye very politely.

As we were walking down the street, one of the employees came in the golf cart to give us a dress that I had left hanging outside the room. Few people do that.

Overall, the experience at this hotel was perfect. It is a simple hotel, but incredibly clean and all the staff were always polite and diligent. It was the first time in many months that I had left a 5-star review for an accommodation.

Here I leave the link of the hotel in case you go to Holbox:
