Hi there,
After the horrible experience with the Venezia apartment, I was a little afraid to book something other than a hotel again. Because in the end, in a hotel there will always be someone at the reception to solve the problem.
I found the Veronalodge on Airbnb and it seemed too good to be true; Besides, I think it didn’t have a bad evaluation.
Knowing that most of the tourist accommodation in Italy had been closed since January, I wrote to ask Sara, the host, if she had time for the next day to do the cleaning. She said yes and told me that the 25 euros of the tourist tax was paid by her from the price of the reservation as a discount.
That she gave me a discount without having asked her, is something that I had never seen.
It scored too well, and Sara gave me a good vibe, so we decided to take a chance and book.
Check-in was after 2:00 p.m., we arrived before 1:00 p.m. and since the check-in guy was there, he let us in earlier without any additional charge.
Gianpaolo spent an hour explaining to us everything we needed to know about Verona and gave us a book with the phone numbers of the hosts, maps, buses, markets and even gave us a list of vegan restaurants in the city.
The apartment was exactly as in the photos and was equipped with everything. There were tablets for the dishwasher, coffee, salt, and sugar, washing machine soap, tea, pasta and amenities.
The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, so we didn’t have any problem to work. We also had Netflix at no additional cost.
The stay in Verona was excellent thanks to how well we felt in this apartment.
One day the air conditioning started to leak a bit and in 5 minutes we already had Gianpaolo at the house to check it. Amazing Service.
The day of the check-out, Sara came, and she was also a lovely person and very polite.
In conclusion, it was one of the very few times that I gave 5 stars (even in cleanliness) to an Airbnb accommodation. The attention and hospitality were perfect, and the apartment turned out better than I expected.
