Today I want to talk about this wonderful hotel that you will see with a very good score on Trip Advisor and with good reason.
In Xpujil we had preselected several hotels to go see them personally. We went to the most expensive ones first and the cleaning was poor.
We headed to the Hotel Chaac Calakmul, which looked simple, but had very good reviews. When we were lost on the road, a boy called Omar found us and said he was the son of the owner of the hotel we were looking for.
He accompanied us there and left us with his father Óscar. We saw the room that cost between 200 and 300 pesos a night and he called her father to show us the little cabins he had a few blocks away. He took us in the car and brought us back because we preferred to stay in the rooms since they were closer to the bus station.
When we returned, Óscar’s wife was there doing a quick clean of the room.
Omar also came again to introduce himself courteously and shook hands with both of us. I was in love with that kid.
This hotel is a house in which simple rooms were made for rent. From the first moment everyone was super polite and helped us with the information we needed. In addition, Oscar’s brother rented us his car at a very cheap price to go to Calakmul without even asking us for identification.
They also have a pizzeria next to the hotel and we went there for dinner the first night. Omar came out and told us that he was giving us free drinks for staying at the hotel. Could this child be more adorable?
We stayed there for two nights and then we went to Palenque.
Oscar told us the best option to go by day bus when not even the one who worked at the station was able to give us this information.
Despite being a simple place with its lack of comfort, to put it in some way, the hospitality was wonderful and the best attention we had received in Mexico so far. In addition, they facilitated the visit to Calakmul.
We always remember this wonderful family of entrepreneurs from Xpujil who, in addition to being extremely polite, have a true vocation and love what they do.
