Hi there,
After the traumatic experience in the Venice apartment, we decided to stay in Venezia Mestre. This is off the island to a metro station (10min).
Next to the Venezia Mestre station there are many new hotels and tourist apartment buildings.
The first thing is that here the tourist tax drops from 4 euros per person per night to 1.50 euros. The bus or train to go to Venezia Santa Lucia costs 1.50 euros each way, but you can also buy an unlimited transport pass that also includes the vaporetto.
The person who greeted us at the reception was super friendly. Also, in the mornings there was a guy from Bari named Alberto who was a sweet person. Every time he saw us, he would say hello and care how we were doing and if we needed anything.
The room was immaculate and exactly as it appeared in the photos. The bed was big and comfortable, the bathroom was spacious with soap and shampoo, a small but well-equipped kitchen (everything new), TV, air conditioning and perfect Wi-Fi.
As an apartment it was equipped with everything you might need during your stay. It even had a dishwasher.
One funny thing is that when we checked-in, I received an email asking me to evaluate the apartment and say what could be improved. Since they do not do daily cleaning, I wrote that it would be good, even if it is every two days to clean the floor, which is what gets dirtiest.
At one in the morning someone knocked on the door. We woke up and I thought that a crazy person had entered the building, but no, it was the receptionist who had received my feedback and came up to ask if we needed help. The next morning, I asked Alberto if it had been him and he apologized since it had been his partner who was new.
Another good thing about the room is that it is well insulated and even though trains pass every so often, you can’t hear a thing. This was essential for us since Diego had to work.
The stay at StayCity was perfect. Everything was as it should be: cleanliness, equipment, location, hospitality, internet. I appreciated Alberto’s attention above all and all the advice he gave us to visit Venice. This is my first time leaving a 5-star review on Airbnb.
With the problem of the previous apartment, we lost two days, but when we left there we won in every way.
