Hi there,
Since mid-2019 I was already thinking about putting plasma on my face. While in Valencia, my orthodontist recommended the Ricart Medical Institute, a well-known dermatological institute and probably the most expensive in Valencia.
The doctor ruled out the plasma because just a month ago I had a bit of acne and because it was not the solution for what I wanted. PRP does not remove wrinkles or fill. Also, he told me that plasma might or might not be noticeable, so he didn’t recommend it.
After three months of using the famous foreo, I got cystic acne that I had never had in my life.
He prescribed a treatment with soap, scrub, cream, ampoules, and pills. Almost everything was from the same brand that the doctor created: Dermmia. That was one of the complaints in the reviews, that he only recommended his products. He also prescribed some pills called Skin Cell Protection that cost 50 euros for a month, but I never bought them because they are collagen with some vitamins, and I already take that separately.
The products are of good quality, but expensive. You can find the same from even more recognized brands at a better price.
Then I had to take 5mg dercutane. The box of 50 pills costs 10 euros, but I asked that they be given to me by social security since it is the only thing that was covered.
From the second day the results are noticeable. Two months into taking them, I got a horrible migraine that I vomited all day. After that, I spent a week with a headache, tiredness, upset stomach, and a fever of 37. I spent that week thinking that maybe it was a virus. But after 5 days of being sick, I stopped taking the pills and everything went away. So goodbye dercutane.
From here I completely changed my skincare, and I will tell you about it in another post.
Initially I had an aversion to botox because I believed that the deformed faces out there were because of it. Dr. Ricart explained to me that botox is the only thing that removes and prevents wrinkles and that people with deformed faces have injected other things.
The recommendation was like this:
- Botox on the forehead and around the eyes: 460 eur
- 1 ampoule of Hyaluronic Acid for the nasolabial fold: 330 eur
- Half ampoule of hyaluronic acid for the upper lip: 225 eur
- Hyaluronic acid ampoule for the chin: 480 eur
- Peeling with genesis: 165 eur (once a month)
Since I had never had anything done to my face, I decided to start with botox and the nasolabial fold. I asked for the anesthetic cream to be applied. One of the reasons I haven’t had anything done before is because I hate needles and because I had the idea that it would hurt a lot. The pain is tolerable.
Hyaluronic acid filler is noticeable right away, remains swollen and hurts for a couple of days.
For the botox they tell you to wrinkle your forehead and eyes and draw points where they will inject. It is not immediately noticeable, but after 2 or 3 days it starts to take effect. Botox is a wonderful thing; Diego says that I looked 10 years younger. Your face does not deform, your same forehead remains, but it does not wrinkle.
I decided to try the lip and chin, although I was more than happy with what I had already done.
For the chin this time he did not put anesthetic cream on me, and it did not hurt at all. From the beginning I liked the result.
For the lip I thought they would put anesthetic cream, but they inject the anesthetic inside the lip. It remains quite swollen as soon as it is injected, and you must wait 2 or 3 days to see the final result. I liked how it turned out, but I didn’t like the overall experience, so I didn’t do anything to my lips again despite the doctor constantly telling me I “need lips.”
I leave you the before and after photos. The ones from before were very close and they were ugly, plus I had to put on makeup because I still had acne. The change is subtle.
Botox lasts 6 months and hyaluronic acid lasts one year.
In general, the experience at the Ricart Medical Institute was good. The focus is first on making you look younger and then on the harmony of the face. The bad thing is that the methodology is not conservative, and I think the doctor never understood that I wanted my face to continue being my face.
A lot of time is wasted because you go through 10 different nurses; one puts the cream on you, another cleans you, another takes the photos, another gives you the liquid to rinse your mouth and so you spend an hour or more until the doctor comes to evaluate you, then you have to wait for the materials to be brought and then the doctor comes back and injects you.
Finally, it is very expensive. The prices of this clinic are double or triple what you find in the market.
