Ölüdeniz’s house, ideal for a quarantine

Hi there,

When we organized the trip to Turkey, we planned to base ourselves in three places. The first of these was the Fethiye area.

Since Diego has a Turkish friend that he met when he did the English course in London, he talked to him to see what he would recommend. Coincidentally his family had a house in Ovaçic.

We were well informed about the speed of the internet since Diego was going to continue working and that is the most important thing when making a reservation now that we are digital nomads.

The same person with whom we managed the rental of the house, booked us the transfer from Dalaman airport to the accommodation. It was an hour’s drive by car and if we did it with public transport, we had to go by bus to Fethiye and then take the Dolmus to Ovaçic.

I was a little suspicious because the house was not on any Airbnb or booking.com type site and with the bad experience of the hotel the night before, I was going with my fingers crossed that the house was really what was seen in the photos. The good thing is that we were going to pay at the property, so there was less chance of being cheated.

We arrived and Salih was waiting for us. We went inside and the house was great: perfect and well-kept garden, clean pool and the house smelled like bleach. We tested the internet connection, and it had good speed.

With everything already verified, we pay and settled.

Salih told us that a guy would also come to clean the pool every 2 days. Then we saw that he didn’t come exactly every two days, but we didn’t really need it either because the pool was so cold. In addition, we had a lot of beaches with perfect temperature.

It was a two-floor house with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, which is too much for us. Even so, it worked out to 250 euros a week and it was almost the same price as renting an apartment.

The bad thing is that the bed and the furniture in general were old. The bathrooms were also like from 50 years ago.

In general, we were happy in the house because there was no noise from the neighbors, and we had a garden.

We had booked for 2 weeks and decided to stay an extra week. Every day we did a trekking route or went to the beach.
