Hi all,
Today I am going to tell you a bit about the accommodations we stayed in Sardinia that were all good, which was a relieve after the disgusting apartment in Malta.
Millami House
This was our first accommodation in Cagliari, and it was wonderful.
It was right in the center and had self check-in. It was a renovated loft on the first floor of an old building. Everything was impeccable and I normally remove the rugs, but this time I didn’t because they were freshly washed.
The apartment had more than enough amenities (shampoo, soap, coffee, salt, oil, sugar) and towels. The kitchen was perfectly equipped despite being small.
A very nice detail is that the host left us some courtesy drinks in the fridge. The WiFi also worked perfectly. The host was always super polite and friendly.
The only thing that might be a negative point is that it does not have a washing machine or work area, so, for long stays, it would not be suitable for us.
Hotel Valkarana
We fell in love with this hotel.
To visit the north of Sardinia we discarded Airbnb because everything was very old, of poor quality and expensive.
In the end, we decided to stay in this hotel that is in the middle of the mountain, and in the middle of the whole area that we should visit.
The first thing is that it was immersed in nature and had a lake in front of it, so the hotel was more than idyllic.
The staff was efficient and friendly. We sent them an email to said that we were vegan and for breakfast they made us sweets and cappuccino with vegetable milk.
After spending the two weeks always eating fast, we enjoyed our breakfasts with views of the lake to the fullest.
Before booking I was a little afraid because the furniture in the room looked quite old, but the surprise was that it was all incredibly cared for and well preserved. The room was large and spotlessly clean.
The truth is that the hotel takes away your desire to go anywhere and it is worth going to spend at least a weekend to enjoy it and relax.
Apart-hotel Cagliari
We booked this accommodation through booking.com and although it was not bad, it was the worst of all.
The first thing is that we thought it was a normal hotel with reception because anyone told us that it would be self check-in (normally you receive an automatic email). We got there and saw that it was a building and that there was no reception anywhere.
When Diego checks his phone, a bunch WhatsApp messages from the owner starts to arrive with all the check-in instructions. There I was not happy because if we had not had data, the information would never have reached us and we would not have been able to enter.
Also, after I replied in Italian and confirmed that I spoke Italian, the guy was still writing in English. So terrible communication.
The apartment was the smallest of all, and the internet worked terrible. Good thing we didn’t need it to work.
For the rest, the apartment was clean and had enough amenities, towels, coffee and tea.
It was also safe because you needed two passwords to access and there were also cameras at the entrance.
