Zitu 106, our last accommodation in Colombia

Hi there,

Since our flight to Peru was leaving from Bogotá, we decided to spend 3 nights there to get some rest.

In December, the only half-decent thing that showed up on booking.com was the Tequendama Suites, but by the end of January, there were a lot of aparthotels in a “good area” that seemed decent.

So, we booked at the Zitu106 which is in Usaquén, and it cost us $50 a night.

Pros

  • 24h security which is extremely important in Colombia.
  • The staff was very friendly.
  • The location was good, considering that Usaquén is the only “fairly safe” area in Bogotá. There are several supermarkets around.
  • The building is new.
  • Very good water pressure in the shower.
  • Washer/Dryer in unit.
  • Daily cleaning.
  • Fairly decent work area.
  • It is not badly insulated for noise and, in fact, much better insulated than the rest of the accommodations we stayed in Colombia.

Cons

  • Bad internet connection.
  • Although the apartments are not badly equipped, they are very small, and I would not recommend them for a long stay.
  • Housekeeping should be improved. Surfaces and floor were a bit dirty.

Although the internet is something decisive for us because we are digital nomads, the accommodation was not bad at all. Housekeeping at check-in failed, but then daily cleanings were good and deep; They even washed the dishes and cleaned the entire kitchen (they don’t normally do that).
