Hi there,
At the beginning of October 2023, I went for Botox in a clinic called BEST medical Concept.
As I told you in previous posts, I had decided to change clinic.
I had seen many videos on TikTok about the Fotona 4D laser and I looked for a clinic that had it.
Two doctors were proposed to me, and I chose Pedro Alberto Santos because after seeing his professional career and his social networks, he seemed the most suitable for what I needed.
At the consultation I told him what I normally do and that I wanted to try the Fotona 4D laser and he told me that he did not recommend it because I had melasma. I was shocked.
He told me that he was an expert in melasma and so just by looking at me he knew what it was. At the time I had some light spots that I hadn’t given much thought to.
He explained that melasma was a genetic condition that could not be cured, but that treatment had to be done to keep it under control and that everything had an influence: hormones, stress, bad sleep, sunbathing, etc.
In fact, he said that, due to a hormonal issue, even if I sunbathed on my feet, it would affect my face.
As an anti-aging treatment, the only thing I could get was ultrasound and in some studies, there had been improvement of the melasma.
I told him that I had had ultrasound with ultraformer in another clinic and that it had been horrible and excessively painful.
He explained that they used another machine that was less painful and explained how the machine worked.
At the Clinica Luso Espanhola I had had ultrasound only on the lower part of my face and this doctor told me that he did not recommend that. He would do the whole face and neck in one session and in another session, the area around the eyes.
I made an appointment for December when we returned from our trip and there, he would also prescribe the melasma treatment.
I also asked my family doctor for an appointment with a dermatologist to get a second opinion.
On December 11 the doctor prescribed this treatment:
Winter Scheme
Morning
- Heliocare 360 D plus, 1 cap at breakfast, 365 days per year.
- L-Glutathione 250 mg, 1 cap at breakfast, 365 days a year.
- Isdinceutics Melaclear Serum
- Isdin Active Unify Color (8h)
Night
- L-Glutathione 250 mg, 1 cap at dinner, 365 days a year.
- Tafixyl 500mg, 1 cap at dinner, minimum 4 months.
- Cream from a doctor’s formulation only to be applied on spots.
- Sensilis Upgrade AR Cream Sorbet
In the morning outline he prescribed another spray sunscreen to put over my makeup. Since I don’t wear makeup, I didn’t buy it.
This is what my face looked like at the start of the treatment:
On February 12 I had an appointment to get Botox before I left for Australia for 3 months. That day the doctor would also give me a new schedule since Australia would be in a different season.
In Australia, due to the anxiety generated by the troublemakers who were staying at my house, I had a terrible acne outbreak and when I came back, my face was even worse. In this post I will post pictures of the progress of my face.
